Hostel – Rules and Regulations

Public College is the only private college in Kerala, which secured ISO certification. We are proud to say that, for the past 33 years, 99% of our students could pass with good grade for all subjects in all streams. This is because of the availability and self-sacrificing service of the teachers and wardens, who were always with the hostlers. Systematic time table and strict discipline kept in the hostel helped all the students to achieve this enviable success.
Rules and Regulations
v Any loss or damage made by the student must be made good by the student concerned, will be collected from each student as maintenance charge. 
v Silence is to be maintained in the hostel.
v Students are prohibited from using cell phones, music systems, magazines in the college campus.
v Visitors time will be 4.00 pm to 5.00 pm every day.
v Without permission of parents, no visitors are allowed to visit any students.
v Only parents, brothers and sisters of the students are permitted to give telephone calls.
vTelephone calls to the hostel will be entertained in between 7.30 pm and 9.00. Emergency matters may inform the hostel wardens at any time of the day.
v Parents/Guardians are advised to discourage the habit of fetching students to their homes on days other than college holidays. This may adversely affect their study. 
v There will be ten days holidays for Onam, and Christmas. Students will have to pay the hostel fee for these days also.
v In the case of girls, their parents, are allowed to bring them to home on holidays or for outing.
v All the students are permitted to go for shopping along with their warden, once in a month.
v If any suspicion arises letters or other parcels and telephone calls will be censored by the management.
v Objectionable behaviour inside the hostel will be considered as ragging and make them liable to disciplinary action. It is vested with the management. The management can make them vacate at any time. No fee will be refunded including coaching fees.
v Students are expected to take care of their belongings such as jewellery, money and other valuables. The college is not responsible for the goods lost.
v Parents may meet the director in person for personal interaction or redressal of complaints.
v Parents and guardians would do well to meet or call on the director at his convenience at least once in a term to get a first hand information regarding their wards and do the needful in time.
v Parents are requested to attend the Guardians Meeting day, as and when asked by the management.
v Freedom of worship is permitted.
v Students can go to church, temple or mosque on Sundays, Muslim students on Friday only along with their wardens.
v Students should sign on the register before they leave to their homes.
v Hostel inmates should attend the crash course, conducted during the examination time.
v Those who once vacate the hostel are not permitted to continue the course, from coming outside.
v No gifts are admitted.
v No students shall leave his/her hostel/class room without the permission of wardens / teachers. Such students are not allowed to continue their studies thereafter.
v Hostlers should love and respect each another. Calling names, teasing, play rough 'jacks', rowdy celebration etc. are considered as ragging and will be reported to the police authorities.
v Students are not allowed to use toxicating drinks, drugs, cigarettes or whitener. Those who violate will be handed over the police. They may be permitted to go to their homes on every Friday (only interested students). They should return on Monday before 10 O'clock. They are not allowed to take leave on silly illness or on silly matters. If they undergo any serious treatment, they should bring the hospital bills and other treatment related documents from the hospital. Parents should oversee matters like this.
v Parents should contact the Director, before reaching any conclusion, whether a problem reported by their wards are true or false.
v Girls are not allowed to share their telephone / cell phone numbers, facebook, whatsapp, internet, family matters or personal matters to others.

 vStudents should respect and obey their wardens and teachers. Every students shall respectfully greet the warden / teachers on his /her first meeting in the college premises.
v It is the personal duty of the students to keep bathrooms absolutely clean. Put the 'waste' in the prescribed places. Those who cause damage will be liable to repairing the same at their own expense.
v No one is allowed as local guardians to the girls.
v Friends of the hostlers are prohibited to come inside the college campus or give telephone calls.
v Those who return from home to college should reach the hostel before 10.00 am. Late comers will not be allowed to enter the hostel.
v Objectionable behaviour even outside college will make them liable to disciplinary action. It is vested...
v Everyone may get acquainted with the rules and regulations of the college given in the prospectus besides the timely instructions given by the authorities through public announcements or by notices issued by the director.
v Ignorance of rules will not be accepted as any excuse.

09.30 am to 09.50 am - Breakfast 

10.00 am to 01.00 pm - Class

01.00 pm to 01.30 pm - Lunch

01.30 pm to 03.30 pm - Class

04.00 pm to 05.00 pm - Tea - Rest

05.00 pm to 07.30 pm - Study

07.30 pm to 08.00 pm - Prayer

08.00 pm to 09.00 pm - Supper

09.00 pm to 10.30 pm - Study

10.35 pm - Bed and Silence


The college management has the right to extend the study time during examination period. 

II. Students should keep personal hygiene. They should keep class, hostel, bathrooms and the premises neat and tidy. They are not permitted to wear others clothes.
III. The management has to right the introduce, amend or change these rules and regulations whenever necessary in furtherance of the aims and objectives of the college.

We have carefully read the above rules and regulations of the college. We declare that my ward and I agree to abide by them and all directions of the management from time to time. We shall co-operate with the management in all matters. Also we promise no legal action will be taken against the college management.
